Safe Arrival

She arrived in Miami last night around 11:30pm. As of last night, they hadn't talked to the doctors, but the pilot and medical staff who accompanied her on the flight  said that there were no complications in the air and that the team at Ryder had received her.

We are waiting for our morning update- any minute now!!

We know that they are going to be running a battery of tests and procedures to assess things. We are all anxiously waiting to hear some results that we feel we can count on.

  6. What a relief! I have been praying all night that Sherrie would be able to withstand the journey. One little step closer - look at where all the little steps have taken you. We are gratefull for the updates that we may continue to pray for your lovely family with all they stand in need of. I find myself telling all my friends about Sherrie and how great she is and how she needs their prayers for her too. Even through all this, Sherrie continues to teach us how to be more like our Savior. You have such a wonderfull wife and mother whom we all love dearly. Keep fighting Sherrie - we are still cheering you on even harder now!!

    Love, Holly (Worthen) Gedye

  8. President and Sister Labrum & Family,
So grateful to know Sherrie made the journey and is safely in Miami! We were so sad to hear of her accident. But even in her critical condition she continues to be strong and a shining example of the Lord's tender mercies to each of us. We pray she will continue to progress and pull through this as herself. We love your family and continue to pray that you will all be strengthened and united. May the windows of Heaven be open to all of you and that you will feel the love of the Lord guide you each step of the way.
With heartfelt love~ Jeremy and Dalynne Denhof & family

  9. Hard to belive a tragedy such as this could happen in that paradise - how we loved our service there in the temple. We cherish Preident Labrum's visit with us during that time when he was visiting on business. It meant a lot to us. We received word of Sherrie's accident just as we left for a Stake Conference for the week-end and are heart sick about it all. We did not have a computer with us, so could not get your updates. We came home with many prayers having been said over the week-end and were so happy to hear things are progressing favorably. We know she has a long way to go -and our love and prayers are with all of you. What an example of an amazing family - before and now. You continue to show the world what the gospel of Jesus Christ does in our lives - such an anchor - such guidance and direction, such comfort. We love you - our family has been very touched by you throughout the years - thank you. Sherrie is a most amazing woman - I don't think the word "No" exists to her - and are sure it still does not - she will not give up. I cherish so many lessons and classes taught by her - loved every one of them. She truly is one of a kind. Know that our love and prayers are with each of you, and expecially her, even from far off Ghana. What a blessing to see that faith and fortitude you exhibit spread throughout the world because of the love we receive from and give to our Savior Jesus Christ. God bless all of you. Love, President and Sister Breillatt - Accra Ghana Temple

  11. All our Love and Prayers are with you! How blessed to know that our Heavenly Father and His Son are there, in charge, and caring about Sherrie, and all of you. As Elder Bednar puts it, "the enabling power of the Atonement of Christ strengthens us to do things we could never do on our own." We pray you feel His wonderful, sweet power encircling you, helping you, and comforting you.
    Love, Kent and JoLyn

  13. To the Labrum Family,

On Friday morning our family received a call from Mike to share with us the tragic news

Tyler had relayed in an early morning phone call. Since then we have been reading and re-reading all of the postings searching for the small “miracles” amid all the painful information being shared with friends and family. Our friendship with your family goes back several years to the time Mike and Tyler first met. The two of them have a unique and sustaining bond that will last a lifetime. I will always be grateful to Ron and Sherrie for the love and spirit of family that was always extended to Mike, as well as Greg and Casey.

The hurdle of getting Sherrie back to the US has been accomplished. Even though the road to recovery will be a long one, I can’t help but feel encouraged now that Sherrie is in the care of the Ryder Trauma Center.

Being here in Libertyville, if there is anything we can help with, please don’t hesitate. Mike has shared our phone and emails with Carol . Casey is free all day and evening and is a great babysitter.

Your family is in our prayers as we await the results of the tests at Ryder.
