We just got this message from Ron:

We life flighted Sherrie to Santo Domingo. That was the right thing to do. She had not had a full set of scans and this facility has all state of the art equipment.

Swelling in her brain has increased and she needs another surgery to eliminate the pressure on the brain. She is in surgery now. The focus right now is to save her life. There is a real possibility that she could have some neurological issues to deal with.

Brandon and I gave her a blessing. We told her that everyone loves her and that we need her to be strong. While she cannot respond, she can hear.

We won't know anything for a few hours now. Pray for the surgeon. Pray for her body to be strong. Pray that the neurological impact will be negligible.

I love you all and wish we were all home together.

Love,

Dad

  1. I've had a soft spot in my heart for the Labrums for the past 25 years. Will certainly be praying for all involved in her care and invested in her heart. Thank you for the many updates, that is such a kindness of you to do.

  2. --Tears as I read this blog. May the Lord bless you all with comfort and the ability to make inspired choices for Sherrie and her care. We offer prayers to the Lord that all will be well for the Labrum family, sweet Sherrie, and for the Doctor's to be guided in her care.
